Strength
Melee Weapons
Strength is a budget melee runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected that delivers Crushing Blow on a shoestring budget. Created with Amn and Tir runes in any 2-socket melee weapon, it's available at level 25 and provides the critical Crushing Blow modifier that melts boss health bars.
Crushing Blow Access
The defining feature of Strength is its 25% Chance of Crushing Blow—one of the few reliable ways to obtain this mechanic in early game. Crushing Blow removes a percentage of enemy current health per hit, making it devastatingly effective against high-HP bosses like Duriel, Mephisto, and Diablo in Normal and Nightmare difficulties. This effect is invaluable for characters who otherwise struggle with single-target damage.
Supporting Stats
Beyond Crushing Blow, Strength offers solid supporting stats. The 7% Life Stolen Per Hit provides sustain during combat, while +20 to Strength and +10 to Vitality help meet equipment requirements and increase survivability. The 35% Enhanced Damage is modest but acceptable for a 2-rune investment. The +2 to Mana After Each Kill helps sustain attack skills.
When to Use It
Make Strength around level 25 if you haven't found better weapons. Tir drops from Normal Countess, and Amn from Nightmare Countess. This is the only reliable way to get Crushing Blow early if you can't find or trade for better gear. Use it through early Nightmare, then replace with Honor, Obedience, or unique weapons as they become available.
