Splendor

Splendor is a budget caster shield runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected that provides skills, faster cast rate, and magic find. Created with Eth + Lum in any 2-socket shield, it's similar to Lidless Wall but completely outclassed by Spirit in almost every situation.

Caster Shield Alternative

Splendor provides +1 to All Skills, 10% Faster Cast Rate, 20% Faster Block Rate, Regenerate Mana 15%, and +10 to Energy. It also grants 20% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items and 50% Extra Gold from Monsters, making it useful for early magic finding. However, Spirit runeword provides +2 skills, 25-35% FCR, and better overall stats with only slightly harder-to-find runes.

Niche Uses

The only legitimate use for Splendor is in Necromancer Shrunken Heads with good +skill mods, since heads can only have 2 sockets maximum (Spirit requires 4). If you find a head with +3 to Bone Spear or Poison Nova, Splendor adds value. Both Eth and Lum runes are common. In virtually all other cases, farm a Monarch shield and make Spirit instead—it's significantly better and worth the effort.
