Edge

Edge is a versatile utility runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected with multiple uses. Created with Tir, Tal, and Amn runes in any 3-socket bow or crossbow, it's available at level 25 and offers the extremely rare Reduces All Vendor Prices 15% modifier alongside a powerful Thorns aura.

The Gambling Tool

One of the main uses for Edge is its 15% vendor price reduction, which stacks with Gheed's Fortune charm for maximum gambling efficiency. When combined with a 15% Gheed's and quest discounts, you can achieve 30% total discount, significantly increasing the number of items you can gamble before running out of gold. Simply equip Edge in town while gambling, then weapon swap back to your main gear for combat. Make it in a low-level Short Bow so any character can equip it.

Thorns Aura Build Enabler

The Level 15 Thorns Aura When Equipped is a viable and effective strategy for Summon Necromancers. Enemies hurt themselves when attacking you or your minions, and when stacked with Bramble armor, you can achieve a Level 30+ Thorns aura that creates a powerful build throughout the game. This Thorns Necromancer approach is currently the preferred strategy for Necromancer speedruns. The +320-380% Damage to Demons and +280% Damage to Undead sound impressive but are treated as off-weapon Enhanced Damage, meaning they don't increase base weapon damage.

Additional Uses

Edge provides Prevent Monster Heal, useful for applying to bosses (most commonly Uber Diablo) by shooting them once with the +75 Poison Damage before swapping to your main weapon. The 7% Life Stolen Per Hit and +35% Increased Attack Speed make it a serviceable bow for Amazons in early Nightmare. All three runes are easily farmable from Nightmare Countess. Keep one in your stash permanently for gambling sessions.
