A Dire Situation
We've all been there - chill farming in hell with our under-geared character, minding our own business, and then, all of a sudden, we get the screen shake:
“Diablo has invaded Sanctuary!”
In this short article, you can find out how to kill Uber Diablo with your character. We are not talking about your Smiters, Mosaic Assassins or any other geared to the teeth class, that can kill him in an instant. We are talking about your level 70 Blizzard Sorc with Spirit Sword and Shield, or that Hammers Palladin on his way to glory.

The Setup
Before we start killing him, there is some preparation that we need to do:
Step 1: Immediately stop what you are doing and teleport to town!
Uber Diablo spawns in place of the first super-unique monster you encounter. Since we want to spawn him in a specific location, you need to prevent that by immediately going back to town.
Step 2: Use the Arcane Sanctuary Waypoint from Act 2 and use the portal above it to go to Palace Cellar Level 3! We want to spawn him in place of the super-unique Fire Eye.
There are a few reasons why we do this:
- Uber Diablo cannot go through the doors.
- His spells cannot hit you through the doors.
- You can stack potions and easily escape if needed through the top-left door.
Step 3: Get yourself an Edge Bow. You should easily have all runes by this point. If you don't have a base, unfortunately, you cannot buy it from a vendor in Hell. However, you can simply remove all your mf gear and find one relatively quickly. We do this to trigger Prevent Monster Heal on Uber Diablo.
A few important points on Prevent Monster Heal:
- It lasts for ~80 minutes.
- If Uber Diablo despawns, you have to trigger PMH again.
- To prevent him from despawning, do not be more than 2 screens away from him for more than 5 seconds.
- If you need to go to town, leave a TP somewhere close to him, to keep him spawned.
Step 4: Stack a lot of potions in the top-left room after clearing it. Keep in mind that potions disappear after 10 minutes on the ground if left untouched.
Step 5: Hit Diablo from a distance with the Edge Bow. It might take some time, especially if you lack and Dexterity. It will become immediately clear that you have hit him, because Edge has Poison Damage and Uber Diablo will turn green.
Step 6: Slowly, but surely, take Uber Diablo down with your spells or hits. Go to the north room to get potions. If you need to go back to town, don't forget to a leave a tp close to him. It might take a while, but eventually, he will go down. Good luck on that Anni! :)
