Voice of Reason is a niche cold-themed weapon runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected that casts cold spells on striking. Created with Lem + Ko + El + Eld in any 4-socket sword or mace, it's designed for fast-attacking melee builds that want cold damage procs.

Voice of Reason's primary feature is casting cold spells: 15% Chance to Cast Level 13 Frozen Orb on Striking and 18% Chance to Cast Level 20 Ice Blast on Striking. With fast attack speed, these procs trigger frequently. The runeword provides Adds 100-220 Cold Damage, -24% to Enemy Cold Resistance (stacks with Cold Mastery), and Cannot Be Frozen. Additional bonuses include +220-350% Damage to Demons, +355-375% Damage to Undead, +50 to Attack Rating, and 75% Extra Gold from Monsters.

Limited Viability

Best for "melee cold" builds like Frost Zealots or budget alternative to Rift runeword. Use fast weapons like Phase Blade to maximize spell procs. All runes drop from Hell Countess. Very niche—most melee builds prefer pure damage runewords. The lack of Enhanced Damage to regular enemies limits effectiveness outside demon/undead-heavy areas.
