Helms
Temper is a defensive helm runeword in Diablo 2 Resurrected introduced in Patch 2.6 that specializes in fire resistance and absorption. Created with Shael + Io + Ral in any 3-socket helm, it's designed to protect against the game's most common and deadly elemental damage type.
Fire Protection
Temper provides Fire Resist +40-60% and the rare Fire Absorb +10-15% modifier. Fire Absorb converts a percentage of incoming fire damage (after resistance is applied) into direct healing, making this especially powerful in fire-heavy areas like Travincal and Chaos Sanctuary. Fire attacks are among the most common and dangerous in the game, with Fire Enchanted unique monsters dealing massive bursts when killed. The absorption mechanic makes Temper particularly effective for mercenaries and characters farming these areas.
Best Uses and Bases
Use Temper for Travincal runs, Chaos Sanctuary farming, or as a swap helm against Diablo and other fire-heavy bosses. The helm also provides +20% Faster Hit Recovery, +75-100% Enhanced Defense, +10 to Vitality, and Increase Maximum Life 5%. Barbarians and Druids should use class-specific helms with +skills. All three runes drop from Nightmare Countess.
