Nadir
Helms
Nadir is one of the earliest and least impressive runewords in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Created with Nef and Tir runes in any 2-socket helm, it's available at level 13 but rarely worth making even during early leveling.
Cloak of Shadows Gimmick
The only reason to consider Nadir is its Level 13 Cloak of Shadows (9 Charges). This Assassin skill temporarily blinds enemies and prevents them from using ranged attacks, which can be situationally useful in early Normal difficulty. However, the charges are expensive to repair, and since both runes are extremely common, most players simply make a new one when charges run out.
Why You Should Skip It
Beyond the Cloak charges, Nadir offers little value. The +50% Enhanced Defense and +30 Defense vs. Missile are negligible at low levels. The -33% Extra Gold from Monsters actively hurts your gold income when you need it most for gambling and repairs. The -3 to Light Radius makes the game darker and harder to navigate. Even the +5 to Strength is barely noticeable.
Better Alternatives
For early game helms, you're better off using magic items with resistances or life bonuses. If you want a runeword helm, wait until you can make Lore (Ort + Sol) at level 27, which provides valuable skill bonuses and resistances. Both Nef and Tir runes drop from Normal Countess and are extremely common, but save them for other runewords instead.
