Leaf
Staves (Not Orbs/Wands)
Leaf is the best early-game weapon for fire-based casters in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Created with Tir and Ral runes in any 2-socket staff, it's available at level 19 and dominates Normal difficulty for Fire Sorceresses and Fire Druids.
Fire Skill Powerhouse
The core strength of Leaf is its +3 to Fire Skills, which applies to all classes—not just Sorceresses. Fire Sorceresses also benefit from class-specific bonuses: +3 to Fire Bolt, +3 to Inferno, and +3 to Warmth. When made in a staff that already has bonuses to Warmth, you can achieve up to +9 to Warmth, which massively improves mana regeneration during the early game when mana is constantly an issue.
Finding the Perfect Base
For most characters, simply buy any 2-socket staff from Akara in Act 1. Fire Sorceresses, however, should shop for a staff with built-in skill bonuses before socketing. Visit Drognan in Act 2 Normal difficulty and repeatedly exit and re-enter town to refresh his inventory. Look for a 2-socket staff with +3 to skills you actually use—preferably Fireball, Meteor, or other fire spells. Staffs can roll up to +3 to individual skills, so a perfect base can give you +6 total to your main damage spell when combined with Leaf's +3 to Fire Skills.
Usage Timeline
Make Leaf at level 19 and use it throughout Normal difficulty. Both Tir and Ral drop from Normal Countess, with Ral appearing roughly every 4-5 runs. The +2 to Mana After Each Kill helps sustain your casting throughout the game. The main drawback is you can't use a shield, so consider weapon swapping to Spirit sword and Ancient's Pledge shield when you need extra resistances in Nightmare difficulty.
