Venom Grip demonhide gloves serve as a serviceable budget option for physical attackers in Diablo 2 Resurrected, offering a modest combination of offensive stats at the cost of minimal gear investment. These exceptional-tier gloves find their primary use as an affordable stepping stone before acquiring superior endgame alternatives.

Budget Crushing Blow

The main appeal of Venom Grip lies in its 5% Chance of Crushing Blow combined with 5% Life Stolen Per Hit. For budget Smiter Paladins building toward Uber Tristram runs, Venom Grip provides cheap crushing blow to supplement the Black runeword and Gore Rider boots. However, the 5% crushing blow is considerably lower than Guillaume's Face (35%) or endgame options, making these gloves a temporary solution at best.

Poison Resistance Niche

The substantial +30% Poison Resistance and +5% Maximum Poison Resistance offer notable value in Act 2 and other poison-heavy areas. Combined with items like Venom Ward, characters can achieve near-immunity to poison damage. The +60 Poison Damage Over 4 Seconds adds minimal offensive benefit but occasionally helps finish off fleeing enemies.

Quick Replacement

Most builds replace Venom Grip once better options become available. Smiters upgrade to Dracul's Grasp for Life Tap proc and open wounds, while other melee builds seek rare gloves with attack speed, resistances, and other useful mods. The gloves can be upgraded to Bramble Mitts via Horadric Cube, though this is rarely worthwhile given their transitional nature.

Trade value remains extremely low—typically just a handful of perfect gems. Venom Grip fills the narrow role of "affordable crushing blow source" adequately but nothing more.
