The Tannr Gorerod is a unique Pike in Diablo 2 Resurrected specializing in fire resistance and fire damage. This normal-tier weapon stands out among early unique spears for its exceptional fire protection, making it particularly valuable for Act 2 mercenaries facing fire-heavy content.

Fire Resistance Specialist

The weapon's signature feature is +15% to Maximum Fire Resist, raising the fire resistance cap from 75% to 90%. Combined with Fire Resist +15%, it provides 30% total fire resistance. This makes mercenaries nearly immune to fire damage, particularly useful against Ghoul Lords, Shamans, and the Travincal Council. The +80-100% Enhanced Damage and Adds 23-54 Fire Damage provide solid offense for level 27.

Mercenary Equipment

The Tannr Gorerod excels on Act 2 mercenaries throughout Normal and into early Nightmare difficulty. When combined with items like Rockstopper, mercenaries can achieve 90% fire resistance, making them practically fireproof. The +30 to Life adds survivability. However, the very slow attack speed hampers player use. By mid-Nightmare, better damage weapons like Insight or Honor will replace it, though the fire resistance remains impressive for its tier.
