The Chieftain stands out with All Resistances +10-20, which provides valuable survivability against elemental damage during Normal and early Nightmare. The weapon delivers solid damage through +100% Enhanced Damage and 20% Increased Attack Speed, while Adds 1-40 Lightning Damage adds extra punch. The +6 Mana After Each Kill helps sustain skill usage during extended combat.

Resistance Value

The all-resistance bonus is The Chieftain's most significant feature, potentially allowing you to allocate resistance elsewhere or survive elemental-heavy encounters more easily. However, as a two-handed weapon, it prevents shield use, which often provides better resistance bonuses anyway. By level 25-30, dedicated resistance gear and better weapon options make The Chieftain obsolete. It's most useful during the transition from Normal to Nightmare when resistance becomes more critical.
