Sacred Armor

Templar's Might is an elite unique armor in Diablo 2 Resurrected specifically designed for Paladins, featuring bonuses to Offensive Auras alongside high defense and defensive modifiers. This Sacred Armor occupies a niche position as a Paladin-focused option that struggles to justify its equipment slot despite its class-specific benefits.

Paladin Synergy

The armor provides +1-2 to Offensive Auras (Paladin Only), affecting auras like Might, Fanaticism, Conviction, and Concentration. This skill bonus appeals primarily to melee Paladins who actively use offensive auras rather than defensive ones. However, the single-tree skill bonus proves far less valuable than the +2 to All Skills offered by armors like Arkaine's Valor or Chains of Honor, which boost all Paladin abilities including combat skills and defensive auras simultaneously.

Defensive Statistics

Templar's Might offers +170-220% Enhanced Defense and +250-300 Defense vs. Missiles, producing defense values between 1,622-1,923. The 20% Faster Hit Recovery provides useful survivability, while +10-15 to Strength and +10-15 to Vitality offer modest attribute bonuses. The +40-50 Maximum Stamina provides negligible value, as most level 74+ characters have sufficient stamina through vitality investment.

Prohibitive Requirements

The armor requires 232 strength to equip—the highest among commonly-used armors. This massive strength investment forces characters to sacrifice 150+ points from vitality, significantly reducing overall survivability. For Paladins who could otherwise minimize strength investment through efficient gear choices, Templar's Might demands counterproductive attribute allocation. The opportunity cost of meeting this requirement typically outweighs any benefits from the armor's modest stat bonuses.

Practical Assessment

Templar's Might sees limited use even among its intended Paladin audience. Zealots, Hammerdins, and Smiters generally prefer armors offering broader benefits—Enigma for teleport and magic find, Fortitude for damage, Chains of Honor for skills and resistances, or Guardian Angel for maximum resistance caps. The restricted Offensive Aura bonus provides minimal impact on character power, as single levels in auras matter far less than overall skill points. The armor trades for very low values, often selling for perfect gems or low runes. Most players view it as an interesting but ultimately impractical unique that fails to compete with modern alternatives despite its thematic Paladin focus.
