Steelgoad
Voulge
Two-Hand Damage: (9-10) to (33-37)Required Level: 14Required Strength: 50Durability: 70-90Polearm Class - Normal Attack Speed+60-80% Enhanced Damage30% Deadly Strike+30 to Attack RatingAll Resistances +5Hit Causes monster to flee 75%Steelgoad is a Normal unique Voulge that introduces players to Deadly Strike mechanics while providing decent damage for mid-Normal difficulty. The 30% Deadly Strike chance makes it hit harder than its stats suggest, though it comes with an annoying drawback.
The Flee Problem
Steelgoad's biggest issue is the Hit Causes Monster to Flee 75% property. While this sounds defensive, it's actually frustrating - monsters run away constantly, forcing you to chase them down. This makes farming slower and combat more tedious than it should be.
When to Use It
Despite the flee effect, Steelgoad works from levels 14-25 if you don't have better options. The Deadly Strike provides reliable damage spikes, and All Resistances +5 offers minor survivability. It's serviceable for Act 2 mercenaries in Normal, though they'll chase fleeing enemies around.
Replace this weapon as soon as you find The Battlebranch or Soul Harvest. The flee effect alone makes it worth dropping quickly. Not worth keeping or upgrading.
