Soulflay is a unique Claymore in Diablo 2 Resurrected designed for mid-level characters transitioning through Normal difficulty. This two-handed sword offers balanced offensive and defensive capabilities with its combination of damage, leech, and resistances.

Balanced Stats for Progression

Soulflay provides solid all-around stats for its level requirement of 19. The +70-100% enhanced damage combined with +10% increased attack speed delivers respectable damage output for Normal and early Nightmare difficulties. What sets this weapon apart is its dual utility: 4-10% mana stolen per hit helps sustain skill usage, while 4% life stolen per hit provides survivability. The +5 to all resistances offers modest elemental protection during the challenging resistance penalties of Nightmare difficulty.

When to Use

This sword works well from levels 19-30 for Barbarians who can wield it one-handed, or for other melee classes willing to sacrifice a shield. The Claymore base type has decent range and speed, making it suitable for Whirlwind Barbarians or Zealots during the leveling process. However, once you reach level 30 or find weapons like Bloodletter or quality rare swords, Soulflay should be replaced. Its damage doesn't scale well into Hell difficulty, where it becomes ineffective against higher health pools and resistant monsters.
