Ripsaw

Flamberge

Ripsaw is a unique Flamberge in Diablo 2 Resurrected that excels at applying bleed damage through its exceptional Open Wounds modifier. This two-handed sword is particularly effective for Barbarians who can dual-wield it thanks to their innate ability to use two-handed swords in one hand.

Open Wounds Powerhouse

Ripsaw's defining feature is its massive 80% chance of Open Wounds, one of the highest in the game at this level. Open Wounds causes enemies to bleed, dealing physical damage over time based on character level rather than weapon damage. This makes Ripsaw increasingly effective as you level up, and at higher levels, the bleed damage can surpass the weapon's own physical damage. Combined with +80-100% enhanced damage, +15 to maximum damage, and 6% mana stolen per hit, it provides solid offensive capabilities.

Barbarian Synergy

The Flamberge base type is the fastest normal two-handed sword, making Ripsaw ideal for dual-wielding Barbarians using Whirlwind or Frenzy builds. When a Barbarian equips two of these swords, they can achieve near-100% Open Wounds chance, causing devastating bleed effects against bosses and Uber content. The combination of fast attack speed, high Open Wounds, and mana leech makes this weapon particularly effective through Normal and into Nightmare difficulty.

For non-Barbarian classes, Ripsaw works as a two-handed option from levels 26-35, but its effectiveness drops off in Hell difficulty where better weapons become available. Barbarians may keep an upgraded version for specific builds, but most players replace it with exceptional or elite unique weapons once available.
