Rakescar

Rakescar is a poison-focused unique War Axe available at level 27 that combines physical and poison damage with defensive utility.

Poison-Centric Design

Rakescar features +75-150% Enhanced Damage, 30% Increased Attack Speed, and +50 to Attack Rating for solid base stats. Its signature ability is Adds 38 Poison Damage Over 3 Seconds, which can be surprisingly effective against weaker enemies in Normal and early Nightmare. The Poison Resist +50% makes it particularly useful when facing Andariel or other poison-heavy encounters.

Niche Effectiveness

While the poison damage and resistance are situationally valuable, Rakescar's effectiveness diminishes rapidly against enemies with poison immunity or high poison resistance, which become common in later difficulties. The weapon's attack speed is decent, but by level 27-30, most players transition to more consistent damage sources through runewords or exceptional unique weapons that don't rely on a single damage type. Consider it a temporary weapon at best.
