This exceptional mace provides moderate damage output and casting charges for dealing with groups, making it a decent option for Nightmare difficulty.
Fire-Based Design
Moonfall delivers +120-150% Enhanced Damage and Adds 55-115 Fire Damage, creating respectable fire-focused offense. The weapon features 5% Chance to Cast Level 6 Meteor on Striking, which occasionally drops meteors on enemies during combat. Additionally, it provides Level 11 Meteor (60 Charges) for manually casting against grouped enemies.
Defensive Utility
The weapon offers Magic Damage Reduced by 9-12, providing minor protection against spell damage from casters and enchanted monsters. Combined with +50% Damage to Undead, it performs adequately against skeleton packs and other undead throughout Acts 1-5.
Limited Endgame Viability
Moonfall works from levels 42-60, but its slow base speed and moderate damage make it less competitive than alternatives. The Meteor proc is flashy but inconsistent—it won't save you in dangerous situations. Most players skip this weapon in favor of Bonesnap, Fleshrender, or transitioning directly into runewords. If you find it, use it briefly, but don't actively farm for Moonfall as better options exist at similar level requirements.
