The staff also includes +30% Faster Cast Rate and 10% Regenerate Mana, delivering solid offensive capabilities for sustained casting.

The elemental penetration bonuses of -7-15% to Enemy Fire Resistance, -7-15% to Enemy Cold Resistance, and -7-15% to Enemy Lightning Resistance provide valuable damage amplification across all elements. These resistance reductions work multiplicatively with elemental masteries, creating meaningful damage increases against resistant enemies.

The Shield Dilemma

The fundamental problem with Mang Song's Lesson is that using any staff forces you to sacrifice a shield slot. Spirit shield provides +2 to all skills, substantial faster hit recovery, resistances, and faster cast rate. The net difference between Mang Song's Lesson alone versus Heart of the Oak plus Spirit shield strongly favors the latter combination for most builds.

However, specific builds find value in Mang Song's Lesson.
