Iceblink

Iceblink is a unique splint mail in Diablo 2 Resurrected featuring the Freezes Target modifier. Available at level 22, this armor allows melee characters to slow enemies with every attack, providing crowd control benefits throughout Normal and into Nightmare difficulty.

Freeze on Hit

Iceblink's signature feature is Freezes Target, which chills enemies with each successful melee strike. This slowing effect helps melee characters kite dangerous enemies, escape mob packs, and control combat tempo. The +30% Cold Resistance provides solid elemental defense, while +70-80% Enhanced Defense offers respectable protection. The Magic Damage Reduced by 1 adds minor spell damage mitigation.

Usage Considerations

The freeze effect benefits melee builds like Barbarians, Paladins, and melee Amazons during mid-Normal to early Nightmare progression. However, the armor lacks offensive stats like life leech or attack speed that more aggressive builds prefer. Casters gain no benefit from the freeze mechanic. The medium armor classification adds stamina drain penalties without providing heavy armor defense values. Iceblink can be upgraded to Russet Armor and Balrog Skin for substantially higher defense, with the exceptional upgrade being particularly worthwhile due to minimal level requirement increase. Despite the useful freeze effect, most players eventually replace it with runewords like Smoke or Treachery that offer superior overall utility.
