Hellrack is an elite unique Colossus Crossbow in Diablo 2 Resurrected that attempts to be a true endgame weapon through pure elemental firepower. This level 76 crossbow deals massive tri-elemental damage but faces significant challenges in practical application.

Triple Element Assault

Hellrack's defining feature is devastating elemental damage across all three elements: Adds 63-324 Fire Damage, Adds 63-324 Lightning Damage, and Adds 63-324 Cold Damage. This tri-elemental approach ensures the weapon always deals effective damage regardless of enemy immunities—most Hell monsters are immune to at most two elements. The +180-230% Enhanced Damage and 100-150% Bonus to Attack Rating provide strong physical baseline damage.

Critical Limitations

Two major problems prevent Hellrack from competing at endgame. First, the 163 Strength requirement is prohibitively high for most builds, forcing massive attribute investment away from Vitality. Second, despite +20% Increased Attack Speed, the Colossus Crossbow base is glacially slow (speed modifier +10), requiring significant additional IAS gear to reach acceptable breakpoints. The weapon comes with 2 Open Sockets, often filled with Shael runes to mitigate the speed issue.

Niche Applications

Hellrack works best on characters who can overcome the speed penalty through transformation, particularly Werewolf Druids whose Werewolf form dramatically increases attack speed. The Level 18 Immolation Arrow (150 Charges) provides a useful ranged skill option. While the elemental damage is impressive, the weapon ultimately falls short of other elite ranged options like Faith, Windforce, or even an upgraded Buriza for pure effectiveness in Hell difficulty.
