Heavenly Garb is a unique light plate in Diablo 2 Resurrected that attempts to bridge caster and melee properties. Available at level 29, this armor provides 25% Regenerate Mana alongside anti-undead bonuses, creating an identity crisis that limits its practical value.

Conflicting Design

Heavenly Garb offers 25% Regenerate Mana and +15 to Energy, suggesting it's designed for casters. However, it also provides +50% Damage to Undead and +100 to Attack Rating Against Undead, which only benefit melee builds. The +10 to All Resistances provides modest elemental defense, while +100% Enhanced Defense gives fixed 216 defense—reasonable for light armor but unremarkable. The 41 strength requirement is accessible to most builds.

Limited Appeal

The armor falls short for both archetypes it targets. Casters don't benefit from the anti-undead melee bonuses, and mana regeneration alone doesn't justify the armor slot when Stealth or Spirit provide better casting stats. Melee characters lose the anti-undead bonuses against three-quarters of enemies, and the mana regeneration is wasted on physical builds. Paladins using Blessed Hammer might appreciate both aspects, but even they prefer dedicated caster gear. The armor can be upgraded to Mage Plate and Archon Plate for higher defense, but this doesn't resolve its fundamental design conflict. By level 29, most players have access to superior focused options for their build archetype.
