Greyform

Greyform is a low-level unique quilted armor in Diablo 2 Resurrected that offers early-game survivability through an uncommon armor modifier: life leech. Available at level 7, this light armor provides a solid defensive foundation for characters progressing through Normal difficulty.

Early Game Value

What sets Greyform apart from other early armors is its 5% Life Stolen Per Hit, a modifier rarely found on body armor. Combined with +20% Cold Resistance and +20% Fire Resistance, it helps melee characters sustain themselves during the challenging early acts. The +10 to Dexterity provides a modest boost to attack rating and defense, while Magic Damage Reduced by 3 offers minor protection against caster enemies.

Usage Window

Greyform serves best from levels 7-20, particularly for physical damage dealers like Barbarians, Paladins, and Amazons who can capitalize on the life leech. Its 12 strength requirement makes it accessible to nearly any character. Most players replace it once they find Stealth runeword or better unique armors in late Normal difficulty. The armor can be upgraded through the Horadric Cube to Ghost Armor and eventually Dusk Shroud, though this is rarely worthwhile given the modest base stats.
