Gimmershred is an elite unique Flying Axe specializing in elemental devastation. Unlike most throwing weapons that focus on physical damage, Gimmershred delivers massive fire, lightning, and cold damage with every throw, making it exceptionally effective against physically immune enemies and in Hell difficulty where elemental variety matters.

Tri-Element Destruction

Gimmershred's signature feature is its overwhelming elemental damage. Each throw adds 218-483 Fire Damage, 29-501 Lightning Damage, and 176-397 Cold Damage with a 4-second chill duration. This "rainbow damage" approach bypasses physical immunities entirely and proves devastating in Hell difficulty where monsters often resist one or two elements but rarely all three. The +160-210% Enhanced Damage scales the base physical damage respectably, while 30% Increased Attack Speed keeps throw speed high.

Best Applications

Gimmershred excels as a specialist weapon for dealing with physical immune packs that would otherwise stall a Throw Barbarian. While it lacks sustain mods like life leech or Deadly Strike, its raw elemental damage compensates against high-HP targets. The weapon also works for any melee character as a switch option for ranged engagements or breaking immunities.

Limitations & Alternatives

The main drawback is the lack of Replenishes Quantity—you'll need to restock or carry multiple copies. This makes Warshrike and Lacerator more convenient for main-hand use. Additionally, Gimmershred provides no defensive mods or sustain, requiring investment in life leech from other gear. Most dedicated throwing builds use Gimmershred as a secondary weapon, swapping to it specifically for immune-breaking scenarios while relying on Lacerator or Warshrike for standard combat.
