This fast one-handed sword excels at slowing and blinding enemies while delivering deadly strike damage, making it effective for specific build strategies during Nightmare difficulty.

Control & Criticals

The sword's standout feature is its 50% chance of Deadly Strike, effectively doubling damage on half of all hits. This makes the base weapon damage far more effective than it initially appears. Combined with +200-250% enhanced damage and 20% increased attack speed, Coldsteel Eye delivers respectable damage output for its level. The 6% mana stolen per hit sustains skill usage thanks to the weapon's very fast attack speed from the Cutlass base.

Crowd Control Specialist

What sets Coldsteel Eye apart is its dual crowd control: Hit Blinds Target prevents enemies from using ranged attacks, while slows target by 30% reduces enemy movement and attack speed. This combination makes it particularly effective for kiting dangerous enemies or controlling packs. The blind effect works especially well against ranged attackers in areas like the Chaos Sanctuary or Worldstone Keep.

For player characters, Coldsteel Eye works well from levels 31-40 but gets replaced once better weapons become available in Hell difficulty.
