Coldkill is an exceptional unique Hatchet available at level 36 that specializes in cold damage and crowd control through freezing effects.

Cold Damage Focus

Coldkill delivers impressive cold-based offense with +150-190% Enhanced Damage, 30% Increased Attack Speed, and Adds 40 Cold Damage over 2 seconds. The weapon features 10% Chance to Cast Level 10 Ice Blast on Striking and 10% Chance to Cast Level 5 Frost Nova When Struck, creating a constant freezing effect around you. The 15% to Maximum Cold Resist and Cold Resist +15% provide excellent defense against cold damage.

Mid-Tier Performance

The combination of high Enhanced Damage, fast attack speed, and cold synergies makes Coldkill effective for Nightmare difficulty, particularly in builds that can leverage the freezing mechanics. The low Strength requirement (25) makes it accessible for many builds. However, by late Nightmare or early Hell, cold immunities become more prevalent, significantly reducing its effectiveness. The weapon works best when paired with other cold damage sources or for farming areas with few cold-immune enemies. Most players transition to better options by Hell difficulty.
