Cloudcrack is a unique Gothic Sword that stands out as one of the few weapons in Diablo 2 Resurrected with Chance to Cast Fist of the Heavens on Striking. This exceptional two-handed sword delivers impressive lightning damage and Paladin skill bonuses, making it a unique option for mid-game builds.

Lightning Striker

Cloudcrack's defining feature is its 6% Chance to Cast Level 7 Fist of the Heavens on Striking, the only unique weapon in the game with this property. Combined with Adds 1-240 Lightning Damage and +10% to Maximum Lightning Resistance, it specializes in electrical devastation. The weapon also provides +2 to Defensive Auras and +2 to Offensive Auras for Paladins, creating unique synergies with aura-based builds.

When to Use

Cloudcrack shines as a budget weapon for Paladins in Nightmare difficulty, where its lightning damage and aura bonuses offer solid performance. However, it quickly becomes outclassed by runewords and other elite weapons in Hell difficulty. The +30 Defense and lightning absorb provide some survivability, but the weapon lacks critical stats like life leech or crushing blow. Most players upgrade it to Champion Sword via the Horadric Cube for improved damage, though even upgraded versions struggle to compete with endgame alternatives like Grief or Doom.
