Bloodthief is a unique Brandistock in Diablo 2 Resurrected built around life sustain and Open Wounds. This normal-tier weapon serves as an early option for Act 2 mercenaries or physical damage dealers needing life leech during Normal difficulty.

Sustain-Focused Design

The weapon delivers 8-12% Life Stolen Per Hit, providing solid life recovery for its level tier. The 35% Chance of Open Wounds adds damage over time, particularly useful against bosses and champions. With +26 to Life and +10 to Strength, it improves survivability and helps meet equipment requirements. Available at level 17, it offers respectable early sustain mechanics.

Usage Window

Bloodthief functions adequately from levels 17-25, primarily on Act 2 mercenaries who can leverage the life leech. However, its +50-70% Enhanced Damage is insufficient for extended use. By late Normal difficulty, better unique finds or simple runewords will replace it. The Open Wounds mechanic has niche value against Diablo Clone, but this specific application comes much later when Bloodthief is already obsolete for actual combat.
