Bloodmoon is an elite unique Elegant Blade focused on life-stealing and sustained combat through bleeding effects. This one-handed sword excels at prolonged fights where its life leech and open wounds mechanics can shine, though it struggles against the diverse immunities of Hell difficulty.

Life Stealing Specialist

Bloodmoon's primary strength lies in its exceptional sustain capabilities. The sword provides 10-15% Life Stolen Per Hit, one of the highest life leech values available on a unique weapon. Combined with 50% Chance of Open Wounds, it excels at bleeding enemies down while keeping your health pool topped off. The +7-13 Life After Each Kill bonus provides additional recovery, making it effective for clearing packs of enemies.

Niche Applications

The weapon offers solid physical damage with +210-260% Enhanced Damage and the fast attack speed inherent to Elegant Blades. Level 15 Blood Golem (9 charges) adds a unique utility option, though it's rarely used in practice. Despite these strengths, Bloodmoon faces stiff competition from runewords and struggles in Hell where physical immunes and high-defense enemies diminish its effectiveness. The open wounds mechanic is particularly valuable against uber bosses and targets with high life regeneration, but the weapon's lack of crushing blow or ignore target's defense limits its viability in endgame content. Most players prefer phase blades with faster attack speeds or weapons with more diverse damage types.
