Azurewrath

Azurewrath is an elite unique Phase Blade created by Archangel Tyrael himself, according to Diablo lore. This weapon combines devastating cold and magic damage with a built-in Sanctuary aura, making it exceptionally powerful against undead enemies and a formidable choice for late-game melee builds.

Sanctuary's Wrath

Azurewrath's most distinctive feature is its Level 10-13 Sanctuary Aura When Equipped, the only unique weapon with this property. This aura deals massive magic damage to undead enemies while providing knockback, making it devastating in areas like the Chaos Sanctuary and Worldstone Keep. The weapon delivers tremendous damage through Adds 250-500 Magic Damage and Adds 250-500 Cold Damage, allowing it to bypass most immunities since magic immunes are extremely rare. The +230-270% Enhanced Damage and +30% Increased Attack Speed provide exceptional DPS.

High-Tier Applications

Beyond raw damage, Azurewrath offers +1 To All Skills and +5-10 To All Attributes, providing valuable utility for any build. As a Phase Blade, it's indestructible with the fastest attack speed base available. The high level requirement (85) means it's strictly endgame gear. While the Sanctuary aura's knockback can be annoying in melee combat, the weapon excels for Zeal Paladins, Frenzy Barbarians, and Act 5 mercenaries. It's particularly effective for Uber farming builds and areas with heavy undead populations. Though expensive and ladder-only initially, Azurewrath represents one of the best unique swords in D2R. Its low strength requirement (25) makes it accessible despite the high character level needed.
