Hell's Forge Quest

The Hell's Forge quest in Act IV rewards you with a guaranteed rune drop when you destroy Mephisto's Soulstone. This is a one-time reward per difficulty, making it valuable for securing mid-tier runes. The rune you receive depends on the difficulty level, with each eligible rune having an equal chance of dropping.

Rune Drops by Difficulty

The table below shows all possible rune drops for each difficulty. Each rune within a difficulty tier has an equal probability of 1:11 (approximately 9.1%) of dropping.

Note: In addition to the rune, you'll also receive 1 perfect gem, 2 flawless gems, and 1 normal gem (or skull) of random types.

Quest Location

The Hell's Forge is located in the River of Flame area in Act IV. After defeating the council members and retrieving the Hellforge Hammer from Hephasto the Armorer, you can complete the quest by smashing Mephisto's Soulstone on the Hellforge. The rune will drop immediately upon destroying the Soulstone.
